Lying Leg Raise

Instructions
Lying flat, you raise straight legs to vertical and lower them slowly without letting the lower back arch. It is the floor version of the hanging leg raise and needs nothing but a mat.

Setup
- 1Lie on your back with the legs straight and the hands under the hips or flat by your sides.
- 2Press the lower back gently into the floor.
Execution
- 1Keeping the legs straight, lift them until they point at the ceiling.
- 2Lower them slowly toward the floor, stopping just before the lower back begins to arch.
- 3Raise again without resting the heels on the floor.
Breathing
Exhale as the legs lift; inhale as they lower.
