Standing Hip Flexor Stretch
Also known as: Standing Lunge Stretch, Upright Hip Flexor Stretch
Instructions
A tall split stance in which you tuck the pelvis and shift forward until the front of the rear hip stretches. It gives the same result as the kneeling version without putting a knee on the floor.

Setup
- 1Stand in a long split stance with the rear heel lifted.
- 2Rest a hand on a wall or chair for balance if needed.
Execution
- 1Squeeze the glute of the back leg and tuck the pelvis under.
- 2Bend the front knee slightly and shift the hips forward until the front of the rear hip stretches.
- 3Keep the torso upright, hold, and then change legs.
Breathing
Slow breathing; keep the glute engaged throughout.
