Instructions
A squat down to a chair, bench or box, touching it lightly before standing back up. The seat gives a clear depth target and a safety net, so it is the friendliest place to learn the squat.

Setup
- 1Stand in front of a sturdy chair with your feet about shoulder-width apart and toes turned slightly out.
- 2Reach the arms forward at shoulder height for balance.
Execution
- 1Push the hips back and bend the knees to lower yourself toward the seat.
- 2Touch the chair lightly without fully sitting down, keeping the weight in the whole foot.
- 3Drive through the feet to stand tall again.
