Single-Leg Leg Press
Also known as: One-Leg Leg Press, Unilateral Leg Press
Instructions
A leg press done one leg at a time. Each side has to do its own share, so it is a simple way to even out your legs without any balance to manage.
- Movement
- Squat
- Type
- Compound
- Level
- Beginner
- Typical range
- 6–20 reps
Setup
- 1Load far less than you use with two legs — well under half is a sensible start.
- 2Sit with your back and hips flat against the pad and place one foot in the middle of the platform, in line with that hip.
- 3Rest the other foot on the floor or tucked out of the sled's path.
- 4Press the platform up, release the safety catches, and hold the side handles.
Execution
- 1Lower the platform slowly by bending your knee toward the same-side shoulder.
