Upper Trap Stretch
Also known as: Side Neck Stretch, Ear-to-Shoulder Stretch
Instructions
A very gentle head tilt that lengthens the muscle running from the side of the neck to the top of the shoulder. Small movements and light effort are all it needs.

Setup
- 1Sit or stand tall with both shoulders relaxed and level.
- 2Let the arm on the side you are stretching hang long, or hold the edge of your seat lightly.
Execution
- 1Slowly tilt your head so your ear moves toward the opposite shoulder, keeping your nose pointing forward.
- 2Stop at the first mild stretch along the side of your neck.
- 3If you like, rest your free hand on your head for its weight only — do not pull.
