Barbell Upright Row

Instructions
Standing tall, you pull a bar up along the front of your body with your elbows leading. It trains the side of the shoulders and the upper traps together with moderate weight.

Setup
- 1Stand with feet hip-width apart holding the bar in front of your thighs, palms facing you.
- 2Set your hands about shoulder-width apart; a wider grip usually feels smoother than a narrow one.
- 3Stand tall with your trunk lightly braced.
Execution
- 1Pull the bar straight up close to your body, leading with your elbows.
- 2Stop when your elbows reach roughly shoulder height, with the bar around lower-chest level.
