Downward Dog
Also known as: Downward-Facing Dog, Inverted V Stretch
Instructions
An upside-down V shape held on hands and feet, with hips high and arms long. One position lengthens the calves, the backs of the thighs, and the sides of the back while the shoulders work gently to hold you up.

Setup
- 1Start on all fours with hands a little in front of your shoulders, fingers spread wide, and toes tucked under. A mat is optional.
- 2Press evenly through your whole hand, including the base of the index finger.
Execution
- 1Lift your knees and send your hips up and back until your body forms an upside-down V.
- 2Push the floor away so your arms and back make one long line, with your head relaxed between your upper arms.
