Instructions
A push-up with your hands raised on a bench, counter, or other sturdy surface. The higher your hands, the lighter it feels, which makes it a great first step toward floor push-ups.

Setup
- 1Choose a stable surface that will not slide, such as a bench or a solid countertop.
- 2Place your hands on the edge slightly wider than your shoulders.
- 3Walk your feet back until your body forms a straight line from head to heels.
Execution
- 1Bend your elbows and lower your chest toward the edge of the surface.
- 2Keep your body straight and your elbows angled back rather than out.
