Lateral Shuffle

Instructions
Quick sideways steps in a low athletic stance, travelling a few metres one way and then back. It trains the hips and thighs in a direction that ordinary walking and running miss.

Setup
- 1Clear a lane three to five metres wide on a surface with good grip.
- 2Stand with feet a little wider than your shoulders, knees bent, hips back, and chest up.
- 3Hold your hands in front of you, ready and relaxed.
Execution
- 1Push off your trailing foot and step sideways with your leading foot.
- 2Bring the trailing foot in quickly, but never let your feet touch or cross.
