Barbell Box Squat

Instructions
A back squat where you sit back onto a box set at about parallel height, pause, and stand. The box fixes your depth on every rep and builds strength out of a dead stop.

Setup
- 1Place a sturdy box or bench behind you in the rack, at a height that puts your thighs roughly parallel to the floor when you sit on it.
- 2Set the bar on your upper back, unrack it, and step back until your heels are just in front of the box.
- 3Take a stance a little wider than your usual squat, with toes turned slightly out.
- 4Take a big breath and brace your trunk before you start down.
