Barbell Front Squat

Instructions
A squat with the bar resting across the front of your shoulders. The upright torso it demands puts more of the work on your quads and upper back.

Setup
- 1Set the bar in the rack at about collarbone height.
- 2Step under it so the bar sits on the front of your shoulders, close to your throat.
- 3Hook your fingertips under the bar just outside your shoulders and lift your elbows high.
- 4Stand the bar out of the rack, take two steps back, and set your feet about shoulder-width apart.
Execution
- 1Take a big breath, brace your midsection, and keep your elbows pointing forward.
