Barbell Row

Instructions
Hinged forward with a flat back, you pull a barbell from arm's length up to your torso. A heavy, honest builder for the whole back that also trains you to hold a strong hinge.

Setup
- 1Stand with feet about hip-width apart and the bar over the middle of your feet.
- 2Push your hips back and bend your knees slightly until you can grip the bar just outside your legs.
- 3Lift the bar to a hang, then hinge again until your torso is somewhere between parallel to the floor and a forty-five degree lean.
- 4Flatten your back and let your arms hang straight down.
Execution
- 1Pull the bar toward your lower ribs by driving your elbows back and up.
