Inverted Row
Also known as: Bodyweight Row, Australian Pull-Up, Horizontal Pull-Up
Instructions
Hanging beneath a fixed bar with your heels on the floor, you pull your chest up to the bar. Raising or lowering the bar changes the difficulty, so it suits almost any level.
- Movement
- Horizontal pull
- Type
- Compound
- Level
- Beginner
- Typical range
- 5–20 reps
Setup
- 1Set a bar securely in a rack at about waist height; a higher bar makes the row easier.
- 2Sit under the bar and grip it slightly wider than your shoulders.
- 3Walk your feet forward until your body is straight and your arms are fully extended, with heels on the floor.
Execution
- 1Tighten your glutes and midsection so your body stays in one straight line.
- 2Pull your chest to the bar, driving your elbows down and back.
